Palace Casino Resort Will Reopen May 21
June 11, 2020 — Biloxi, MS—Palace Casino Resort is pleased to announce that it will reopen on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 10 AM. The process will be gradual with some resort amenities reopening at a later date. On May 21, the entire casino will open with a completely new slot floor layout to ensure greater distancing. Slot machines have been arranged to eliminate side by side gaming. Table games will be open with spaced seating for up to three players per table.
Palace Buffet will reopen and operate as a cafeteria-style venue. It will offer the same guest favorites in each station, but there will be culinary staff at each station to prepare and serve guests’ plates. Seating has also been removed to allow greater distance between tables. Palace Café & Bakery will feature grab and go sandwiches, salads, desserts, coffees and more. Other Palace restaurants will reopen at a later date.
The resort hotel will also open on May 21 with a few limitations. Every room will be completely cleaned and sanitized between guests, but daily housekeeping services will be limited on stay over days. PURE The Palace Spa & Fitness Center will remain closed to avoid direct contact. Services not available initially include valet parking, transportation for guests, room service or delivery of any food or beverage to hotel rooms. Access to elevators, the business center and gift shop will be limited.
“We have approached this process thoughtfully, taking precautions to protect our guests and team members,” stated General Manager, Keith Crosby. “We have completely redesigned the slot floor, and I believe our smoke free environment is more important than ever for everyone’s health and safety.”
Cleanliness has become the primary focus as we prepare to reopen. Team members will continue deep cleaning and sanitizing and there will be a dedicated Housekeeping staff to sanitize and disinfect each game following each observed gaming session. Palace will also suspend gaming activity in the casino between 3 AM and 8 AM every day to clean and disinfect surfaces.
Several other changes are in place for the safety of visitors and staff. Social distancing will be highly encouraged and reminder signs will be prevalent. There are hand sanitizer stations throughout the property, on the casino floor and at each restaurant. Plexiglass shields are in place to ensure distance and protection for guests and team members throughout the property. Team members will receive a temperature screening prior to starting each shift, and alerts at every entrance will instruct anyone who is ill, exhibits symptoms, or has been exposed to Covid-19 not to enter the building.
Due to limitations on tournaments and drawings that may generate a crowd, we have canceled promotions that were previously scheduled for May. Please visit www.palacecasinoresort.com for updates.
“We are excited to begin the reopening process and bring most of our team members back to work,” Crosby stated.
