June 7, 2019, Biloxi, MS — Robert and Lawana Low, owners of Palace Casino Resort, have a contender thoroughbred, Intrepid Heart, competing in the
Belmont Stakes on Saturday, June 8th. “Being able to watch Robert and Lawana Low’s thoroughbred, Intrepid Heart, run in the Belmont Stakes adds to the excitement of the race for our associates and guests,” said General Manager, Keith Crosby.
Palace Casino Resort features the Gulf Coast’s first race book, which opened on April 17th of this year. Guests can place wagers every day on nationwide horse racing events at teller windows and at self-service terminals located in CONTACT Sports & Race Book.
Robert and Lawana Low are prominent thoroughbred owners and breeders. The Lows own and operate a 300 acre farm named “Primatara” located in their hometown of Springfield, MO. The Lows purchased Intrepid Heart as a two year old in training with the goal of having it compete at the Belmont Stakes. Intrepid Heart’s sire, Tapit has been responsible for three previous Belmont winners. “Being a Tapit out of a Touch Gold mare, Intrepid Heart, has Belmont written all over his pedigree,” stated Robert Low in a recent interview with Thoroughbred Daily News. “We have been thinking Belmont from the day we bought him,” Low continued.
The Lows have owned notable horses such as 2018 Arkansas Derby (G1) Winner and Kentucky Derby contender Magnum Moon, along with Real Cozzy, Green Fee, G1 Winner Capote Belle, and 2006 Kentucky Derby 3rd place finisher, Steppenwolfer. Robert and Lawana are pleased to share their passion for the industry with Biloxi through the new race book inside Palace Casino Resort.
